A Mountain Out of a Mole Hill

I wanted to share a big lesson that I learned yesterday and that carried over to today.  Have you ever had something come up that was really nothing but that if you thought about it long enough you could make a mountain out of a molehill?  Well that happened to me yesterday.  Something very small and insignificant happened that really just got under my skin.

The more I thought about it the madder I got.  As I was praying for God to fix the other person or show me how to bring it up to fix the other person He said… Philippians 4: 8.

I said wait a minute, this is not about me it is about them… Philippians 4: 8.  Then I looked it up.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any virtue or be any praise THINK ON THESE THINGS.  Well immediately I said it is true what I am thinking.  And He said… Not your PERCEPTION of the truth, but what is TRUE according to MY WORD!!!!

You see our perception can get so out of whack and we can think on things that are not at all pleasing to the Lord and if we continue in that pattern then it can lead to sin.  Sin starts in our minds then goes to our hands.  So after arguing my case a few minutes and finding out it didn’t hold water I had to change my attitude and my thought pattern.  Then after work when the Devil brought it up again I had to again think on Philippians 4: 8, what was TRUE according to the Word, not my perception of the truth.

After I had surrendered my thoughts I received the lesson for yesterday.  Then today as I was reading in Genesis 18 a verse completely jumped off the page at me.  It was verse 19 – You see God had spent some time w/ Abraham and He was going to go destroy Sodom and Gomorrah where Abraham’s nephew lived.  So God says to Himself…

Genesis 18: 17-18 “Should I hide from Abraham the thing which I do: seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the Earth shall be blessed in him?  Then comes the best For I KNOW HIM that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgment that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He has spoken of him.”

That is what jumped off the page at me.  Oh to hear my FATHER say that about me… I KNOW Kelly and she will teach her children and all those she comes in contact and they will keep the way of the Lord that the Lord will bring upon her that which He has purposed.   That was so awesome to me.
