Just recently, I found myself in a place of hopelessness, a place where nothing could encourage me…not even the Scriptures, themselves. THANK GOD, that only lasted a day or two!! Once the wave of despair had passed, I pulled out my Bible and found exactly what I needed to press on. Everybody goes through a similar situation at some time or another, and I think it’s one of the devil’s most successful attack plans. Over these next few days, I thought I’d just share some of the verses that gave me divine encouragement.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” ~ Romans 8: 28
This has been one of my anchor verses for years and years. (A lot of you can probably say the same thing!) I’ve seen this promise come true so many times, even though it sometimes took a year or more for me to realize how the bad had, indeed, worked in my favor. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in the details of the moment, so I’m glad we can depend on our Father to know how everything is tied in with the future. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that necessarily makes it easier! We’re an emotional bunch, and devastating circumstances can really get to us. We just have to remember that God already knows what we’re going to encounter, and that’s why He put this verse in His Word.
