Rebekah’s Faith Story
In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
I went home to my three small children and told my hubby about it. I was 26 years old. I told no one else and we literally forgot all about that encounter as we raised children and grew in the Lord.
In 2006, I began writing for fun and didn’t immediately see the hand of God on what I was doing. But I kept writing and God began to speak. I joined a social media program just to connect with old friends and distant family. A lady asked to friend me and I just didn’t want to friend anyone but those I was looking for. Finally, through something she said on her page, I said to Him, “Okay God I give this (social media page) to You. You do whatever you want with it.”
He did just what I asked Him to do. Every day I ask Him what His people need to hear and He speaks. As long as He leads I will write. I am merely the typist to the Lord. He takes ordinary and makes it extraordinary when we apply His Word to everyday life. He also takes natural people and creates supernatural events through them as they give themselves fully to Him.
Oh Beloved, Live in the Light of His Word is my first book and it is a compilation of the devotionals written originally for my online friends. We are working on two more books and another devotional. God is so good!
My prayer is that people will realize how much God loves them. To love Him is to trust Him. And when you trust God, everything changes. He is Your All In All and He is always available, an Ever Present Help in Time of Need.
