Waiting Patiently Will Be Rewarded

Waiting Patiently will be Rewarded

I believe waiting patiently is about the same as perseverance. And I like to think of perseverance as finishing something we begin. Perhaps salvation is one of the best examples. Even though true salvation can’t be lost; it will take perseverance to fight the devil and live the kind of life God intends.

I will be glad if before God calls me home, I can truthfully say I count it all joy when faced with trials of different kinds: because the testing of my faith produces perseverance. During the past two years I have wondered if God is chastising me, and if so, have asked for forgiveness. And my life is far from being perfect, but I am trying to serve Him in my limited ways, and believe, as with Job my life is being pruned and refined to make me more like Jesus. I pray for perseverance of Job to say, “Though He slay me; yet will I trust Him.”

Father, in Your word we’re told blessed is the man who perseveres under trial: because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life promised to those who love Him. Although currently my life is in turmoil and I see no relief in the immediate future, I know You love me and are using Your pruning clippers to help my life produce more and better fruit. I thank You in Jesus name for loving me and for victory You’ll give. Amen.
