Waiting Then and Now

Waiting Then and Now

At age ninety-nine plus again I am dependent on others for many of my needs. I’m thankful I can care for personal grooming, make my bed, spend many hours writing, and then put my thoughts into my computer.

Though many years have passed since I was a dependent little girl, still I am trying to learn the importance of waiting and this verse gives me courage: Count it all joy, when you meet trials of various kinds: for the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. Then James adds: “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trials.”

Living after the aftermath of hurricanes Matthew and Irene is requiring some waiting. Not only does God work on His schedule; evidently my insurance company does too: because my family and I are living in hotels waiting for my insurance company to take action.

My son is handling all the details, so during old age I’m dependent on him and others.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all blessings: for in the midst of problems, I know that You are working behind the scene. And since Jesus made it possible for me to have a relationship with You, I pray in His name. Amen.
