It was just going to be a simple fix up downstairs in our open living area and kitchen. We looked at lots of flooring but there was that idea that we could just have the floors stained since we’re on a slab. That was a great idea. Until we began to pull up the flooring in the kitchen area. What we found was a rough patch of concrete that was flaking off. Because of this small area of trouble we would have to completely skim coat the entire downstairs area – over a thousand square feet. We went back to the drawing board and now Danny is laying new flooring all over. It was a real learning experience.
Oh beloved, you’ve found yourself in a rough patch haven’t you. You didn’t intend to go there but it’s right in front of you. God wants you to know this morning some important things about the rough patches in your life. They are temporary. No rough patch lasts forever. In the huge scheme of life it’s a very small area. He also wants you to know that this rough patch was no surprise to Him. In fact, He’s going to use it to shine you up for His glory. It’s a learning experience. He says as well, there’s no way you can fix it yourself. He’s the fixer of all rough patches. When we try to fix things, it only gets worse. But when we yield to His wisdom, call on His Name and rest in His promises, the rough patch will soon be over and you will be stronger, wiser, closer to Him and you will shine in the light of His glory even more.
God loves you and He’s for you. Whatever rough patch you are encountering you can rejoice that you are safe in the hands of the One Who will always be there for you. God will prove Himself to be able to fix even the very roughest of times and give you strength to live in the Light of His glory and grace.

I Peter 1: 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
James 1: 2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
