A Savior Promised

This is only one of several promises of a Savior, but the prophet Isaiah wrote: ” Behold! a virgin, shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah  7:14.

Later Luke wrote this announcement concerning the birth of that Savior, Jesus:

“During  the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy with John the Baptist, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to man whose name was Joseph of the house of David. The Virgin’s name was Mary.” After greeting her, angel Gabriel, told Mary she was favored by God and not to be afraid: because God was with her. Then he told Mary she will bear a Son and He will be called Jesus. Of course Mary was surprised and confused: because she was a virgin. He also told her of her relative’s being with child after normal child conception age. Then the angel reminded her all things are possible with God.” Luke 1:26-29

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of a Savior, who would be born and later give His sinless life to pay for my sins. I thank You in His name. Amen.
