Accept the Crumbs and God Will Make Loaves

It’s amazing how sometimes we think that God owes us so much more than we deserve.  We possess bigger homes, better jobs, bigger cars and even more money.   How is it that we fall short of seeing the blessings in the smaller things?

A remarkable story is told in Matthew 15:21-28, when the Canaanite woman pours from her needy soul in desperation of her demon possessed daughter.  She wasn’t searching for the finer things of life. She was only searching for a man who could provide her with what she needed most.  As she fell upon her knees, she cried out with an urgent plea, “Have mercy on me Oh Lord. Help me, she said.  You are my only hope!”

After ignoring her for a time, Jesus finally spoke to her in a term that sound offensive.  “It is not right to take the children’s (Jews) crumbs and toss it to the dogs (Gentiles).” Yes Lord, she replied, “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”  This pagan woman should be noted for her incredible faith and humility. — She gladly accepted the crumbs and her daughter was instantly healed.

My friend, do you have everything that you need?  In reality, His crumbs are all that you need. For many, crumbs are considered leftovers.  But to those who are really desperate and understand that God is the master of the table—they accept the crumbs.

So what will you do with your crumbs?  Will you refuse them and let them fall by the wayside, or will you accept them and let God turn them into loaves.
