“Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.” Exodus 2: 1-4
From the birth of Moses, God chose him to lead His people out of Egypt. We read about this in Exodus, a book in the Bible.
But other than complaining, what did the Israelites do during forty years while wandering in the wilderness? While Moses was on the Mount with God receiving the ten commandments, the Israelites became restless and gave their golden earrings to Aaron to be made into another god. There is an adage that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop, and while the people were waiting for Moses to return they sinned grossly against God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, although I have many weaknesses, I’m not a lazy person. Perhaps it’s due partly to my upbringing, but especially due to my type A Personality. And I thank You in Jesus’ name that at one hundred one years old plus I have an alert mind and can continue my writing ministry. Amen.
