Add Action to Your Intentions

Scripture: Proverbs 20: 4-5 A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters; but a man of understanding draws them out.

Being a farmer’s daughter and spending many years on a farm, I’m familiar with planting and harvesting seasons. Some crops such as peanuts and potatoes were dropped into open furrows by hand. If one became tired before all peanuts were dropped into the furrow, and decided to put the remainder of peanuts in one hill, when many small vines of peanuts adorned the row, one’s laziness was exposed.

Also there is a true adage that hell will be filled with those who intended to accept Jesus as Savior, but some time later. So no matter our desires or intentions, if possible they should be put into action.

This week I went for a medical appointment and was told to take an antibiotic for an existing condition. The medicine was bought, but if it remains in the container, it will not help my condition.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me not only to know Your will, but with Your aid help me perform Your will. Amen.
