There are some things about retirement that are wonderful and a couple of things that are taking some getting used to. I can remember when my dad retired. I was only 6 years old! I know weird huh. He had spent years working off shore. That meant three months out, one month home. We had a routine that got changed every three months. My dad missed work when he was home and missed us when he was gone. I get that. It was a big flip when dad was home. But we got used to it. And even though I miss my coworkers and customers, I am adjusting. I love being home.
Oh beloved, busy lives often leave us tired and wrung out. Maybe you don’t feel like you have time to get to know the Lord as much as you want. You don’t even feel you have time to get to know people in your circle. But busy is as busy does and you just keep the treadmill turning.
God wants you to know this morning that you need Him. It’s not possible to even know yourself without knowing Him. And it’s not possible to have an understanding of your life without having an understanding of Him. God wants to encourage you this morning to make time for Him. You can’t live the healthy life of faith without Him. And in this chaotic world of half-truths, covered lies and blaring information, you need a healthy life. Opinions don’t count with the Lord. And having Him as a visitor every three months won’t keep you well. It’s time we all adjust ourselves to His presence in this season turning into years. A weak church won’t survive. And a weak believer will be ineffective for kingdom accountability.
God loves you and He’s for you. He is the breath in your lungs. He is the blood in your veins. He is the reason you woke up at all this morning. It’s more than a Bible study, it’s studying the Lord to find out who He is and who you are in Christ. Run to Him this morning and thank Him that He provides everything you need by His hands. Talk to Him about everything. Listen for His answers. Bless Him that He doesn’t come and go with the whims of your life. And live as a precious, powerful, purposeful believer in the Light of your relationship with Him!

John 17:3 This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.
