Philippians 4: 12 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”
Paul had learned a wonderful lesson: one that is taking me one hundred years to learn, and I’m still learning, but I understand somewhat better than I once did. And one thing which I have learned is that if Christians accept these adversities without bitterness, the Holy Spirit will use them to help us become more like Jesus. Paul said he had learned to content whether hungry of having food, but thanked Philippian believers for sharing with him while during his needs.
God allows His children to suffer in many ways, but not one of them will be lost. Many will stray from the straight and narrow path but if truly born again, all believers will be given eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the peace and contentment believers can have while trusting in You and the security they have in You. Since Jesus gave His life to make that possible, we praise and thank You in His name. Amen.
