Standing in the crowd of third graders, I was shorter than anyone but I was fast. Two of my classmates had been chosen to be team captains and now they were choosing their friends, the athletes and the popular kids. I desperately hoped they chose me. I wanted to be the one.
Mark 9:23, “All things are possible to the one who believes.” HCSB
I still want to be the one. I want to be the one who believes. I want to be the one God uses, the one He chooses. God apparently doesn’t choose based on ability, looks or popularity. In fact He seems to delight in choosing the unlikely. Why else would He choose Gideon, Moses, Saul or me for that matter?
1 Corinthians 1:28, “God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things-and the things that are not-to nullify the things that are.” HCSB
If you are in an impossible situation, congratulations. Bring your need to your all-sufficient, all-powerful Heavenly Father. He loves you and has good plans for you. He chose YOU before the foundations of the earth. Trust His heart when you don’t understand His hand. BELIEVE.
Romans 4:3, “What does scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’” NIV
I want it to be said, “Vickie believed God.”
What about you?
