Bless His Name

Have you ever had a moment where you just had to stop and give God the glory? In the book of Daniel, there was a powerful King who ruled the land. A tyrant, to say the least. The contrast of where his heart was as a domineering king is made apparent next to Daniel’s humble obedience and utter dependence on the Lord.
When Daniel’s three companions would not bow down and pay homage to King Nebuchadnezzar, it was ordered that they be bound and thrown in the fiery furnace. The three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were found to be walking around with a fourth; unbound and unharmed to the king’s amazement. There is no refuting that God is good, and when or if we see Him performing miracles, we may also bow down and pay Him homage in amazement or sheer gratitude. Praises to Him may be brought forth from our own lips. We can bless His name for the incredible things He has done and continues to do.
Both of these instances brought such amazement to the King that he had to stop and give God glory through his own mouth.
“How great are His signs,
How mighty His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion endures from
generation to generation.”
(Daniel 4:3)
