There’s a big discussion going on social media between the early decorating versus waiting to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
We have been in both camps. One year early in our marriage I was pregnant and having some problems so there was no going into the woods. Thankfully my hubby bought our tree just a day or two before Christmas while he was training In Little Rock. We’d never had pre cut tree! We finally decided to use artificial trees later because we couldn’t agree on which tree to cut. I always wanted a tree that truthfully was too big to get in the house! Now we are back to enjoying cutting a live tree with family.
Oh beloved, I guess God is speaking this morning not about Christmas trees or when to decorate. But I think He is saying choose your battles well. You have been through many serious skirmishes. You’ve fought for your dignity, you’ve battled for your sanity and you’ve spoken out against injustices you have endured.
God wants you to know this morning that He fights your battles. He will never let you lose and He isn’t about to lose either. Not only does the enemy of your heart and mind not lose the war he is working as a loser even today! He wants you to be all torn up about everything. This enemy wants to keep you groveling and worried and swirling in a mess.
But Jesus came on the scene for you long before you had a battle and He has won the victory for you. He has come to give you life and it’s an amazing abundant life! You can’t always change the outward circumstances but you can have Peace no matter what!
God loves you and He’s for you. It’s time for you to give yourself permission to enjoy your life. You’ve been freed from the opinions of man and the need to prove it to anyone. Rejoice and decorate your life with joy unspeakable and sparkle all the way!
2 Chronicles 32: 8 With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.”
I Corinthians 10: 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Galatians 1: 10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
Psalm 19: 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
I Peter 1: 8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory
