I was intrigued by the new brand of coffee I spied. 50% of proceeds goes to veterans. Loved that! So instead of picking up our usual brand I picked up a bag of this new brand’s Rise and Shine light roast.
Well when I made the pot of coffee it was delicious. But within a few minutes My chest hurt and I found myself jittery. I realized that this coffee actually has more caffeine, so I got a jolt to start my day!
What do you drink of first thing? The troubles of the day, the losses you have had, the worries you don’t know what to do anything about? Drinking of the wrong stuff can give your heart a jolt and present you with more stress than you ever want. It will go with you all day.
Oh beloved, it’s time to rise and shine! But at the same time, it’s time to lay everything at the feet of Jesus. You don’t want to wake up, pick up your troubles and carry the jitters with you all day long. Worrying will never add to your life, it will most certainly take away the quality you are ordained to have in Christ. You are in a position to whip up a tasty cup of faith every day. Your birthright is more than the cup of coffee you have. It’s much more than the worries, fretting, jitters and fears you have. Those don’t belong to you – they come from the enemy of your soul. And the torment you have over your life is a bitter cup no one in Christ is supposed to drink.
God says to you today remember the Word, pour it out lavishly on your life. Since all things work together for good, you can remain calm in this frustrated world. Since the love of God is over your life you can remain at peace through it all. Your life is magnificent, supernatural and extraordinary. Prepare daily the cup of faith and pour liberally into it all the truth of the Word, for you are chosen, royal, priestly, holy, and God’s own possession. You are not your own, therefore you don’t have to struggle with the issues that God can deal with and relieve you of. You are more than successful, wide awake and ready to roll – you have Jesus to roll your care on throughout your life!
God loves you and He’s for you. Let Him pour in the oil and the wine. Let Him lavish His presence on you. Let Him relieve you of unnecessary burdens. And then live freely and fully alive in the Light of His wonderful Word!
I Peter 2: 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
