Crushed But Not Broken

“The spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”Isaiah 61:1

“the lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”Psalm 34:18

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”Proverbs 3:5-6

We are all at different levels in our walk with Christ and we all experience trials. Though we may not understand why we face the trials we face, we can lean on His promises to get us through the painful trials. Friends, I do know we have an enemy that comes to steal kill and destroy. But you see, the Lord comes to restore you and He wants to get to know you.

We may face trials to help bring us closer to the Lord. We may face trials because this world is full of dark people. I want to encourage you to extend that grace and have compassion. Some people haven’t accepted Christ and they haven’t broken the cycle of abuse. I want to encourage you to trust in His plans for your life, His ways are bigger than our ways.

Proverbs 3:5-6 declares “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

If I didn’t face all those hard trials at a young age, I wouldn’t be able to help women who came from broken families. I wouldn’t be able to help all those teens and children who are in the system who have been abused and misused. I wouldn’t be able to give comfort to those who have been abused, abandoned, abducted, and raped if I never experienced it.

Isaiah 61:1 declares “the spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”

We may not understand the trials we face up until we meet Christ. It wasn’t until I was saved when the waves had calmed down. I know a man who wants to wipe every tear away and He wants to take all your hurt away.

Revelation 21:4 declares “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

The trials we face will either make or break you. You may feel brokenhearted and alone but the Lord is with you.

Psalm 34:8 declares “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

I may have been broken but I was not crushed. If you have gone through those dark valleys like me, get encouraged and go to the King of Kings. He wants to change somethings. I promise your life will never be the same. I am a testimony that something crushed can be turned into something beautiful. How about you? Are you still feeling crushed and broken from your past? When you got saved He wiped your sins away, He took your shame. Stop dwelling on the past and look towards the finish line. We are still here by the grace of God and that was no accident. Use your story for His Glory.

I want you to begin to declare this declaration over your lives

  • I have a new name and I do not conform to the labels of this world

I am not who my  past says I am, I will  rise and shine brighter than a star

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the old has gone, the new is here.”

  • I am talented and gifted despite what others say
  • I will use my story for Gods Glory
  • I am a daughter of the Highest
  • I will not give in to the enemy for we have the Victory

Prayer

Father, I pray for your servant reading this devotional,  I pray that you would comfort them from their past wounds. I pray that you would have your way in their hearts, Heal them from any broken thing in their lives that may be hindering them from giving to all of you. Give them the audience and strength to move past the pain so that they may use their story for your glory. In Jesus mighty name. Amen
