As I swiped my card at the local discount store the electronic machine went through the motions just like every other time I’ve shopped. This time though I noticed at the end I saw this word: ACCEPTED. I laughed and told the cashier thanks for accepting me. We both laughed and I took my purchases to the car and then home.
ACCEPTED. Such a simple word. Such a profound message. To be accepted from the viewpoint of Christ He agreed to take us into His Kingdom. He consented to give His own life for us. God gave us a positive response to our negative lives. The responsibility for our lives was shouldered on the Cross. We who deal with human rejection often feel that God too should reject us. Then we deal with cliques and clubs and sometimes wonder where we really fit in. We wonder if we will ever be accepted anywhere. But the more we learn about Jesus and His acceptance of us, the more we feel the freedom of that acceptance. Because of Christ’s wonderful love for us we will never be turned down, we never have to take on the condemnation of our mistakes and we don’t have to worry if one day God will no longer tolerate us in our frailty and weakness and turn us away.
Oh beloved! Rejoice! In Christ you are ACCEPTED! No matter how many times you have to swipe the forgiveness card, it’s already been paid. Your prayers are always heard. Your life is always secure. Everything you need is bought and paid for by the Blood of the Lamb! You’ll never run out of acceptance, generosity, love, faith, hope or endurance. Even the necessary food of both spiritual and physical life are already purchased and waiting for you. The warehouse of God’s love stays full no matter how many withdrawals you make. The store house of blessings runs over. The enemy of your soul may say you have to work your way to glory, but that too is paid in full! He may whisper rejected, unknown, empty, turned away. Always remember you are living from the aspect of a full account that never runs dry.
Don’t let the enemy steal your joy or make you think works will give you acceptance. The acceptance God gives is in spite of our weaknesses and simply because of His Great Love! Don’t give into the weakening lies that you have to do something to prove your worthiness to be accepted or that you can’t make it, you won’t have enough or God is done with you.
God loves you and He’s for you! It’s time for you to accept His unconditional love in full! It’s time you learn to rest in His promises, relax in his presence and start making withdrawals from His wonderful storehouse of all you are in Christ! Don’t settle for another day of trying to make yourself accepted. Start living as an accepted beloved child of God and watch your life takes on new meaning as you live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
