Have you ever looked back at something the Lord has brought you through and still had a sense of doubt? Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt for being tempted to look back at what they were leaving behind. God intends for us to keep our eyes focused forward. To be in the present, not the past. Sure, the past will creep in and remind us of either things we have done, said or felt. Sometimes, that past isn’t all that bad. That past has been used to shape us, but it does not define us.
What defines us is who we are in Christ. Who God has created us to be, who we are to become. That doesn’t mean we have to be someone necessarily with our names in lights, but just be who God has specifically called us to be.
On this day, pray and seek the Lord and ask what He has for you in this very minute, in this very space. Young, or old, He has called you to be a vessel for His light and His love. Shine it so the whole world can see.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14
