As Christians we have ways of combating the devil’s evil plans for making us miserable:
- We can humbly pray and ask God to let us resist the enemy.
- We can remember the promise God make to us that He wouldn’t put more on us than we can bear.
- We can put on the armor of God.
“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.” Ephesians 6:13 -16.
The battles that we face are not us against the enemy; they’re the enemy against God. God created the devil only to have him try to take God’s place and authority. You know the rest of the story – the enemy was kicked out of Heaven and his fate was sealed. He will burn in hell forever.
We as Christians need to get an urgency about ourselves to, not only minister to those who are battling lies of the enemy, but also to win souls to Christ before it’s too late.
When Jesus steps out on a cloud and calls His children home, we need to have at least tried to get others out of the grip of Satan.
