Fall Devotions

Day 5

Well our week is coming to a close and I just want to take a minute to recap what we have read and hopefully been challenged with this week.

Well, we know for sure I love fall!  Everything fall!  But I love everything fall because it reminds me so much of Jesus and His love for me and for you. The color changes that happen, the leaves that fall, the blankets we pull out and the cool breeze with the rays of warm sunshine…all Jesus.

He truly loves us more than we understand most days.  He loves us so much that not only did He send His precious son Jesus for us as the sacrifice of our sin, but for all our sins.  He loves us so much that He doesn’t want us to stay where we are or remain who we were before we found Him.

He wants to take the messes we have lived in and through and He wants to bring His beautiful touch to them and make us new and vibrant for Him.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come, the old is gone and the new is here!”.

He wants to release us from shame that we have lived in and bring us to true freedom with no condemnation.
Romans 8: 1Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”.

He wants to wipe away the mess, heal our wounds and wrap us in His abundant love never to be separated from Him again.
Romans 8: 37-39 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

He wants us to surrender and allow Him to breath new life into us.  To allow Him to fill us with joy that overflows. Joy from the inside out. We have to let go of what we are allowing to quench our joy and choose joy.  We have to let go of our situations and choose total surrender. We have to choose growth in Jesus and that means allowing His light into the dark places so He can heal you from the inside out.
Heb. 6: 19 “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain”.

God is not limited by time or space.  God is the creator of the universe.  He spoke the world into existence and yet He humbled himself to the cross and from the cross to the grave and from the grave to life He full filled what he promised.  He is a God that is alive and He wants you to be alive in Him.

But that will mean less depending on your strength and more faith that He is stronger.
It will mean striving less for better and surrendering to His best.  It will mean relinquishing control and trusting in who is in control.  It will mean not just having knowledge of the truth but living and walking in His truth. Don’t do one more thing; make one more decision, allow the enemy to tell you one more lie….Surrender. Give it to Him.  Breath in Jesus.  And Rest.  May the joy of the Lord be your continual strength.

Father “I pray that each lady reading this truly rests in Your presence today.  I pray that in the name of Jesus they are able to let go of the things of this world. Whether the world is holding them or they are holding onto the world.  I pray that their desire is to be a useful vessel for Your kingdom and that they are able to see that You have a purpose for each of them and that Your love for them is deep.  I pray that they see what they have been through or what they are going through as a time You have allowed for them to lean into You and Your promises.  I pray that they see You are growing them for Your work and for Your purpose.  I pray that they realize that You are enough for anything they are facing.  I pray that their faith is growing and that they are able to truly trust in You.  May You draw each of us closer to You, may we grow strong in You and Your Word and may we wake up daily, put on the armor of God and go to battle trusting You have gone before us. May total surrender be nothing we give to the enemy but everything we give to You each day.”

Surrender – to give to one influence and course, to give up and relinquish control and to yield power to another

Luke 9: 23 “Then He said to them all “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me”.
