Fear Has No Hold on You

Today is the second day I find fear circling around me like standing in the eye of a storm. Fear trying to consume me, pull at my heart and plant doubt.  My heart guarded itself and walls went up.  I pulled back and began to self-protect. That is when I began to see.  It was as though through the fear that was ensnaring me I could see the truth.  The enemy brought the fear but it was my submission to it and acceptance of it that was going to cause destruction in many areas of my life.  If I did not pursue God’s love for me in this moment then I would surely be the one that would sabotage so many good things in my life.

Psalm 23: 4  “Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I will never be lonely, for you are near.”

Do not forfeit the possibility of a good relationship, great career or a healed and whole heart by allowing fear to cause you to place a hedge around your heart.  When we begin to self-protect and withdraw out of fear, it takes a place in our hearts.  It is the love of God that keeps us free from the bondage of fear.

A few years ago, God dropped in my heart the words “even if.” Along with these words came the understanding that “even if” I never experienced earthly love again, that I am loved divinely, eternal and extravagantly by God who created the heavens and the earth and who knew me before my birth.  I am loved.  At that time, that revelation broke through fear in my life and every day I woke up and said I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine.

Habakkuk 3: 17-19 GW “Even if the fig tree does not bloom and the vines have no grapes, even if the olive tree fails to produce and the fields yield no food, even if the sheep pen is empty and the stalls have no cattle— even then,  I will be happy with the Lord. I will truly find joy in God, who saves me. The Lord Almighty is my strength. He makes my feet like those of a deer. He makes me walk on the mountains.”

Sisters, fear is a real thing and we all face it but we can choose not to allow fear to take a place in our hearts.  Use these moments as a gauge.  When you recognize fear in your life press into to God, declare His love for you, and speak His Word out of your mouth and over your life.  Perfect love drives out fear so choose to believe Gods love for you. Even when you face situations that have brought fear to you remember “even if” it does not change let your heart be settle in truth that God loves you and is for you and not against you.
