Finding Peace In The Middle of Uncertainty

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

There is so much that can be learned from this one verse. In this verse, we are being told that even though we will have trouble throughout our time here in this world, we should have peace within our hearts. We shouldn’t live in worry or fear, we shouldn’t be afraid of what may come tomorrow, instead, we should live in peace. The Lord has overcome all that this world could possibly throw at someone, and even more, he has conquered death. God doesn’t tell us that we won’t ever have hard times or that we won’t ever experience pain. We will certainly go through hard times, we will feel pain and heartbreak, and there will be days when we feel as though we can’t go on. But if we lay all of that at the altar, and turn it over to our Lord, he will see us through. With the Lord beside us, we can live in peace and with nothing to fear.

Lord, as we start each day, show us that you are near. That we can live each day in peace knowing that you are within us. Even in the times where we may not be able to hear your voice or see what you are showing us, please give us the strength that we need to go on. We ask this in your name Lord, Amen.
