Gifts and Desires and Destiny!

A friend’s post mentioned that her children are reading The Boxcar Children series of books. That really touched my heart because those were some of my favorite books when I was a child. And I was thrilled that there are still children who still love to read books.
I looked up the author, Gertrude Chandler Warner, and find out that from the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her grandfather, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift.
Oh beloved, what gift are you dreaming of? What heart desire are you thinking of? Did you know that God puts dreams in hearts – of children and of adults, of men and of women. No gift is without a giver. And no gift is ever enjoyed without the recipient complying. Do you love to write? Start writing. Do you love to paint? Go get some paint! Do you love to encourage, equip, teach? Start with where you are. The author was a five-year-old girl when she began dreaming. And she started by writing stories for her grandfather! Maybe you think times are too hard or this season is too hard for you to be creative and use your gifts. The author even shared that she did much of her writing while convalescing from illnesses or accidents, and that she conceived the idea of The Boxcar Children while sick at home.
She didn’t start out to be famous, or have a museum named after the characters she created. She only had the passion to write and write she did. So beloved, today is your day to be loosed from what you think should be and begin to work on your dreams. God tells us in His Word that young people will dream dreams and old people will see visions. Stop thinking God no longer moves. And begin to move with Him into your destiny!
God loves you and He is for you always. So, stop dreaming and start putting the dream to reality with God’s help, doing it God’s way. You will always find joy and purpose!
Acts 2:17-18 ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out My Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
