God Gives Evidence

We have enjoyed what has been a pretty mild summer so far. No temps over 100 degrees yet at all. I like that. I could do without the usual soaring thermometer readings altogether. But the weather people are saying this week is going to be tipping if not over 100. I’m glad that those in charge of weather reporting can warn us when a storm is brewing, when a hurricane is forming and when the temps will soar. We can be prepared at least somewhat. Or can we?

Oh beloved, don’t hold your breath for everything you have heard to hold true. Many a weatherman predicted the very thing that never happened. How do we prepare for what might not even materialize? We plan for the possibilities, but we live by faith.

You, precious believer, are not bound by any evidence presented that leaves God out. Prayer is a lifeline and who doesn’t pray when a storm approaches? But prayer is more than that. It’s a barometer – it indicates the pressure you feel and it also measures where your faith lies. You aren’t going to be put under fear’s domain because of the weather, or any other thing. Fear is the operation of the enemy. Never does God tell His people to fear. He says rather, “walk by faith”, “live by faith”, “faith rests on the power of God” and so much more.

While scientific evidence may suggest, God says. And when God speaks nothing changes that. You aren’t of the realm of the earth, hoping there is a god who hears you when you call out to Him. You are of the realm of Christ, who has become your salvation and provides all your needs according to His riches!

God loves you and He’s for you. Your best preparation is to be secure in Christ. Your finest hour is coming, when you will absolutely walk by faith not by sight. Run to the Father this morning and thank Him that His Word, His care and His hearing are perfect. And live as a prepared believer, looking forward to the glorious hope and living as an ambassador of faith in this world that has almost forgotten The Only Living God entirely – and yet you know Him well!

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I Corinthians 2:5 … so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

I John 5:4 For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
