Scripture: God Satisfies me with Good Things and my youth is renewed as the eagles. Psalm 103: 5
An eagle is thought to be one of the strongest most fearless of all birds, but It is said when an eagle is about five years old, it begins to lose its feathers and that gives one the appearance of renewed youth. During that process, the bird may look sickly and weak, but when the process is complete, an eagle has the look and feel of renewed strength and power.
I’d like to compare elderly believers to the eagle, and will use myself as an example. Although one hundred one years old, use a walker and wheelchair, I am blessed in many ways: I don’t wear glasses, don’t wear false teeth, and am blessed to use a computer, and use my right forefinger to write many books.
As is true during the aging process, short term memory is not as accurate as while younger, but I have excellent long term memory. I realize I’m blessed to share my house with my elder son and his wife and daughter, and he takes good care of me.
My other son lives in Dallas, but also is a thoughtful son. I am very blessed, and realize it. As Habukkuk wrote: “Though the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines. though the olive crop fails and the field produces no food: though there are no sheep in the pen and cattle in the stalls; yet will I rejoice in the Lord; I will be joyful in God, my Savior. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer: He enables me to tread on the heights. Habukkak 3: 17-19
So thank You heavenly Father for all my blessing. Jesus made this possible and I thank You in His name. Amen
