God’s Presence Unwrapped

Wrapping presents is one of my favorite things to do. I get a lot of joy out of thinking about the reaction each person will have over the gift picked especially for them. Sometimes I get busy wrapping and forget whose gift is whose. I’ve even been known to unwrap something to see what it is. At any rate wrapping a gift is fun. But watching each loved one unwrap those gifts is absolutely joyful!

Oh beloved, God has already given you the best gift anyone could have. He has given you the gift of Salvation. This gift tops all gifts ever – and it lasts and lasts. When you said yes to Christ you ensured the forever part – forever in His heart, forever headed for heaven and forever leaning on Him for the good tidings of comfort and joy. Everything you ever need is a gift from the Father. Even the abiding Holy Spirit sealing your heart and mind is a precious gift.

And many of the gifts God has given you are gifts you can give to others. Forgiveness, empathy, compassion, and more. You who once were the one opening gifts can now impart the knowledge of God to others. The more you use the gifts of God the more you will keep them. Amazing!

God also wants you to know that His gifts are yours to partake of all year long. Not just Christmas do you have joy and peace. His gifts are not seasonal. Other “gifts” may try to crowd out these gifts from your heavenly Father. If you are opening up condemnation, regret, fear, worry, unworthiness – these are fake gifts – these items are sent by the enemy of your soul to ruin your Christmas and all the rest of your year. Refuse them quickly and focus on the Lord – there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. No need for regrets because your sins are wiped away. Fear has to go – because Perfect Love casts out fear. Worry is thinking God could do something but won’t. God will always move on your behalf and work all things together for your good. And because you belong to Christ He makes you worthy, beautiful, loved, redeemed, chosen and anointed and appointed.

God loves you and He’s for you. Don’t wait for Christmas morning – open His gifts now! Receive them with an open heart. And enjoy the benefits of your new birth. Rejoice that you can always say yes to the Lord and live in the Light of His wonderful gifts!

Romans 5: 16  “And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.”

James 1: 17 “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”

2 Corinthians 9: 15 “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Ephesians 2: 8 “God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”

I Corinthians 1: 7  “Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
