My oldest nephew and his sweetie went on a ski trip. Her words at the end of the trip went like this, “What was I thinking? That I could take up two slim sticks, and slide real fast down a mountain and not have problems?” That’s after her injury was looked at again by a physician at home.
Don’t we often have the same attitude of our walk with God? “What was I thinking? I accepted Christ and thought I could just slide through life and right into heaven’s doors. No problems?”
Oh beloved, this walk of faith is not a simple tiptoe through the tulips. It’s no weekend fun day either. It’s wonderful! It’s supernatural! But just as Dorothy and Toto met trouble along the way, we too will have our share. There is no slide through life. But what makes this life tolerable, joyful and bearable is who goes with us. When we go through stuff, you and I never have to face it alone. And when we get to enjoy life, it’s a gift from the Throne Room!
God wants to encourage you today, beloved, to take some chances this year. Do something you’ve dreamed of doing. Follow God without holding back. Trust Him without reservation. Let Him lead you out of everyday and sliding through life to doing something you know won’t succeed unless He does it for you!
God also wants you to know that your prayers are like signed legal documents. They are delivered to Him and signed by the Blood of the Lamb. God answers prayer. You don’t have to be afraid to give the big stuff to Him and you don’t have to worry about bugging Him with the little stuff. His guarantee includes – He hears your prayers, He considers His will, He plans the best answer and He will deliver it at the right time. Your guarantee is simply to trust and obey. Your life is not the sum of accidents, injuries, troubles or other disasters. Your life is living proof that God is with you in the ups and downs and wherever you may go!
God loves you and He’s for you! Bust out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. Burst forth from natural to supernatural! This is your year for impact, victory, pure joy and more. Run to the Lord this morning, thank Him for Jesus, Holy Spirit and life everlasting. And live today abandoned to the One who loves you most and has you in His hands always.
I Peter 4: 12-13 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.
