The Holy Spirit helps Christians during Weakness
Romans 8: 26-28 ” Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those called according to His purpose.”
Have there been times in your life when all you could do when praying was lift your voice to God and groan in your spirit? The past weeks of my life have been some of the most difficult and complex ones I have ever experienced. My 100th birthday was near, and my church was planning a nice celebration for me, but I developed pneumonia and spent my birthday in the hospital. From the hospital, I spent time in a rehab center; then back to the hospital, and finally home where I am stranded in our upstairs apartment.
But instead of wringing my hands in frustration, I have written a booklet based on My motto: which is I want to Wear Out; not Rust out, and am writing these devotions. I continue to receive an alert mind, and the ability to use my arthritic right forefinger to type, I shall live up to my motto!
Heavenly Father, I give all honor and praise to You for my ability to serve You in a few ways, and since Jesus made this possible by giving His life to save me, I pray in His name. Amen.
