In God’s Eyes

Day by Day Devotions

In the eyes of the world
You are dispensable,
For someone can fill your space.
In the eyes of God
You are irreplaceable,
For no one can take your place.
He knit you together in your mothers’ womb,
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
You have a place to fill in His plan,
And all your days are ordained.
Your talents and abilities are yours alone, He designed them just for you.
What will you do with what He’s given?
You have the will to choose.

What has happened in your life that you feel dispensable?  Did you not get the bonus that you were expecting? Has your mate had you served with divorce papers?  Has your child told you they never want to see you again?  Did you receive a pink slip this go-around?  Do you feel like your self-worth has fallen down around you?  Do you think, “what’s the use no one cares about me?”

Don’t be so hard on yourself.  You may be dispensable to the world, but you’re irreplaceable to God.  You are one of His Original Masterpieces.  And God doesn’t make mistakes.  He knows everything about you, even the number of hairs on your head.  (Matthew 10:30). He watched you being formed, and no matter what you do or where you go, you can never be far from His comforting presence.  (Romans 8:35-39)

Things happen for a reason and only God knows the reason. He can take what is bad in our lives and turn it around for His good. (Romans 8:28)  He has a plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11) where we can use the talents, abilities, gifts, and skills, that He has given us to share His love with others.

“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!  How great is the sum of them!  If I should count them they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with you.” Psalms 139: 17-18
