Is God Mad at Me?

Have you ever felt like God was mad at you or that He used a tragedy in your life as a result of something you did or didn’t do? There are people who feel this way all the time and then there are those who think like this once something bad happens. I want to speak about this for a moment.

God is not out to harm you. You don’t have to do anything to earn His love or acceptance. The Bible tells us in

1 Timothy 2: 3-4 “This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.”

His desire is for all people to come to a love relationship with Him. It also says in Jeremiah 29: 11 that God has good plans for you (His children) not to harm you but to give you a hope and a future.

God is love and He loves His children, He desires them to be wholly trusting in Him and not be scared of Him. Bad things happen and yes God allows it but it is not always a punishment. God doesn’t stop all tragedies from happening but He does promise to be with us through them.

Joshua 1: 9 “Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous, do not be terrified or discouraged because The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We must trust Him even during the hard times – times when nothing makes sense. We trust that He still loves us and will never leave us alone no matter what.  God will use everything in our lives both good and bad to draw us closer to Him. He doesn’t want us to live in fear of what He might allow but to trust Him as our Daddy who loves us to walk with us every step of the way in our life journey.
