It’s Over?

Well another Christmas is “in the books”. It’s over. For better or worse there is nothing more we can do about it. I work hard to surprise Danny with at least one present he doesn’t know about and each year he just seems to know. LOL And everything that was opened was used and grateful kids ran down battery operated goodies quickly. All in all it was a success. But it’s over.

Danny always reads a Scripture passage each year and this year was no exception. That meant a lot considering this year’s happenings. But two grandsons also wanted to read a Scripture! When I looked through photos of one of our daughter’s postings online, I saw that her husband as well had read Scriptures that morning before they opened gifts. The tradition has passed to another home and for that we are so very grateful.

So although Christmas is over, it’s not really over. Because what matters most is being handed down to two other generations. The reading of the Word, the discussion of that glorious first appearance of Jesus as a Babe, continues on.

Oh, beloved, true CHRISTmas is not over. Sure, gift giving is done for another year. Festive overeating of each family’s traditional meal is done. All that’s left is putting it all away for next year. But CHRISTmas is forever. It’s not over as long as you remember the real meaning of the season – Jesus and His magnificent birth. For us! He came for us. He died for us. He rose again for us. Everything Jesus did He did with you in mind precious one. He knew about you before you were even a glimmer in your parents’ eyes. He knew your name, your birthdate, your life and your calling. And He says you are the Apple of His eye. You are so very wanted by Him. You are so worth it to Him. You are so cherished that He would still die for you even if you were the only one. You needed a Savior and He gladly gave Himself for you. Your destiny does not lie in whether CHRISTmas was good enough or happy enough. Your destiny lies in the facts of His Wondrous Truth about Himself and about you.

God loves you and He’s for you. The gift was given at the manger. Receive it every day. Rejoice in the magnificent outcome always. And remember, no matter what, CHRIST in you is the Hope of Glory and your reason for every season of your life. It’s never really over because He lives and you live in Him!

I Corinthians 1: 20 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 6: 51 “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”

John 7: 38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

Ephesians 5: 8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
