Jesus Christ Is the Glorious Reflection

“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.” Colossians 1:18-20 MSG

The ultimate purpose of mankind is found in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that our entire being is found in Him. You can make great strides, you can succeed but outside of Christ, it’s merely that. The only way anyone can discover why on earth they are here is to take a look a where and whom they have come from.

Dr. Dyer gave an illustration once. If you cut a slice from a pie, what is that slice called? Pie he said. Because it has the same characteristics as the whole pie from which it came. This is similar to mankind. The only way you can fully comprehend what you are capable of is to look at where you originated from. Jesus Christ reflects everything that God has created man to be!

The text tells us, that in Christ we see the Father. He became the example of what the life of a spirit being created by God, living in a body here on earth is designed to look like. He exemplified the relationship man should have with the Father, the authority we have on earth, what it means to be a son of God, and what our assignment on earth is.

Your place of purpose is not a place of competition. There is room in Christ Jesus for what He has assigned you to be. The Bible tells us that a Kingdom divided by itself will not stand. Why then would God create man with the same capabilities and assignment only to fight for a place in this world? Would God’s Kingdom stand then?

We were all created to fit and live together in perfect harmony and sync with our gifts complementing and serving each other. Anything else, that causes dysfunction, and an obsessive pursuit of power, is from the devil. Seek to win in your assignment. Seek to discover the grace, and specifics that make up for that success in your area of calling.

Maybe you have gone against the grain on your path of purpose. Trying to become like everyone else, fighting for a place that is not yours. God is encouraging you to stick to what He has created you to do. There is space for you in this world. There is a need for your gifts, talents, and creativity even during this pandemic.

Prayer against competition in purpose:

Dear Father, I thank you because you have created me to fulfill a specific purpose on this earth. May I never fall into the temptation to want to compete with or compare to what everyone else is doing. Thank you, Lord, that my place of purpose is my place of fulfillment, success, and glory. Thank you Father that in fulfilling my purpose, I reflect on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Thank you because this area of grace is the key to my purpose and grace. Father, open my eyes and heart to the specific area of calling. Show me Lord what my spiritual and natural gifts are. I pray all this in Jesus name. Amen
