Jesus is the Life Changer: Day 3

MJOF-DevotionsHealed from Heart Trouble

When I met Christ I had lots of presuppositions. I had already been teaching Sunday School and working in Bible School, along with singing in the choir and playing the organ at church. I got married in church as well. We even had communion at our wedding. I had even gone so far as to pick a wedding invitation with a Scripture on the front, “Whither thou goest I will go…”

But all this time my heart was sick. It beat only for myself. It had such issues that it was in death throes. Try as I might to be good enough for God, I fell short constantly. My secret sins were black as coal. My goodness was a mere cover up. I liked my life, but I was missing something. I couldn’t run and frolic with folks because of my heart.

One day Christ, the Heart Surgeon, came into my living room. I heard Him call my name. He told me it was not enough to “know about Him”. What I needed was to “meet Him personally”. As I gave my life to Christ, He began surgery and changed my heart completely. It no longer beat for me, it began to beat in newness of life for Him! It no longer skipped beats and ran off with every whim, it began to steadily keep the beat to God’s will for my life. One touch from the Savior changed everything and literally saved my life!

Oh beloved, have you been to the Heart Surgeon? Do you know Him personally? I can assure you He knows you by name. You are not destined to live in sickness, turmoil and mis-beats. As you give your life to Him, maybe for the first time, maybe in renewal of your first love, you’ll find that surgery on your heart makes you strong and valiant and able to run wherever God sends you.

God loves you and He’s for you. No need to fear this Surgeon for His ways make for changes that stay changed. His scars in His hands tell you that you have no need to wear scars from the damage of a life lived without Him. Praise Him for what He has done! You are healed, delivered and set free to live for Him in the Light of His Glory and grace!

Ezekiel 36: 26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
