Jesus Washes Disciples Feet

Jesus Washes Disciples’ Feet

Scripture: “Then Jesus poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciple’s feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him. ” John 13: 5.

The following is far more than a wayside ministry it was an example of the humility believers are to demonstrate to their fellow believers. Before Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew His hour had come to leave this world and return to heaven, during supper after Satan had put it into the heart of Judas to betray Him, Jesus rose from the table, laid aside His outer garment, tied a towel around His waist, poured some water in the basin, and began washing the disciples’ feet.

Prayer thought: Father, though the above was part of Your plan: it’s not the normal procedure for one to leave His seat at the table and wash the feet of others. We thank You for allowing Jesus to wash not only our feet, but our entire body in His cleansing blood. Amen.
