Joyous Friendships

Reflections from Corinne’s Garden
Magnifying the Light of Jesus in Our Daily Lives
Day 6 ~ Joyous Friendships

“I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.“  John 8:12, NET

As we bring to a close the last six-days together, we want to experience the Light of Jesus shining on our friendships;  Today, as I am many days of the week in Corinne’s Garden, I’m focusing on God and the refrain to this  song flowed into my soul ~

Friendship with Jesus • Fellowship divine • Oh what blessed, sweet communion • Jesus is a friend of mine.

It speaks of a friendship so divine that it is unimaginable to experience the depth of it here on earth. But there is a friendship that God gives us that is so very precious and many have called that the friendship of believers…..those who are walking with Jesus, and those who we lift in prayer to Jesus, pleading for their salvation.

I have this delightful book filled with beautiful pictures, and captioned with joyful words. I carry my “garden ~tools” with me. This book is one of them , inspiring me as I meditate on Jesus and those He has placed in my sphere of influence. (Blessings of Friendship a Gift from the Heart, Karla Dornacher, April 25, 2000.)

Oh dear friend, for a moment close your eyes and envision you and your friend walking through Corinne’s Garden hand in hand, birds singing, flowers blooming  and the caption reads ~ Hand in hand; we walk together, heart to heart…..friends forever.

This is a lovely picture but let me ask you….”Have any of your friends ever failed you or disappointed you? Showed up late? Forgotten your birthday? Hurt your feelings? If they haven’t….they will! We are all imperfect people, and we all make mistakes.

God’s majestic Word in Ephesians 4:32 direct us to “Be kind to each other; tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”  We all need grace!”  There is only one Friend who will never fail you and that is Jesus. ”For all your other friends give them grace! That is the way it is with God and friendships. He goes before us to prepare the soil of our hearts ~ not only for our friendships with other believers, but also for friendship with Himself, always teaching us how to give grace to others.

Thoughtful Reflection ~  Praise God daily for giving us His living word to light our way in this life.  He is the one who can change lives therefore the most important things you can do is pray. Lord don’t let me miss forming those “heart ♥ connections” with friends, that come from you alone.
