Noah Walks with God

Noah Building the Ark by James Tissot

Scripture: “Noah was a just man and walked with God.” Genesis 6: 9

Noah was an old man when told to build the ark, which would have been a huge task even for a young man, but Noah obeyed God and began his work, and since his was the only righteous family on earth, more than likely his neighbors ridiculed him. But he completed his task of building the huge ark which was three hundred cubic feet long; fifty cubic feet wide, and thirty cubic feet high. Then he brought the specified animals and other creatures and put them in the ark and closed the one door.

Then on the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, al the fountains of the deep burst forth, floodgates of heaven was opened, and rain fell forty days and forty nights on the very day Noah entered the ark along with his sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth,  and his wife and three daughters-in-law.

Prayer thought: Father, currently our society might well be described as was true when God destroyed all mankind except righteous Noah and his family.

“God saw that the wickedness of men was great on earth, and that every imagination of his thoughts only evil continually.” Genesis 6: 5.

But Jesus made it possible to be saved; so Lord, have mercy on Your sinful people. Amen.
