It’s barely more than three months until Christmas. In light of how 2020 has gone thus far, we might want to plan ahead for it just a bit. I’m not a last minute person, but I have always enjoyed the hunt for just the right gift for just the right person. Even so, I may have to switch tactics a bit this year. IF we’re not careful we will spend a lot of frustrated time comparing this Christmas to past years. But we will have more of a blessed time if we just take this year and enjoy what we have, not grieve over what we used to have.
Oh beloved, your life is so precious to the Lord. More precious than you can imagine. He planned ahead just for you, as though you were the only one to plan for. His Son went to the cross with you on His mind. Holy Spirit came to give the empowered life just as if you were the single place for Him to dwell. The angels rejoiced in heaven when you accepted Christ.
Not only that, but every day of your life is blessed. Every. Single. Day. This day may not look like your best past times. Please don’t compare. Don’t waste today by regretting the season’s changes. You’re not even sure of your future, and yet you are. For your future, your times the Word says, are in His hands.
The amazing thing about God are that He already knows the answers we need for this season, for the holidays ahead and for our whole life. He also knows how He is going to get us through what we’re going through. These difficult times won’t last, but He will. Therefore whether you know it or not, you will make it. The most amazing thing about the Lord is that He knows the outcome of everything and He knows how He is going to handle it all – your life is in His hands, not yours.
God loves you and He is for you – through it all. It almost sounds as though God is saying don’t drop trying to enjoy your life because of what’s happened so far this year. He hasn’t put you in a cell and locked the door. He has set you up to reveal His glory through you living for Jesus. Oh how gracious and merciful and loving our God is. Even if, even if, even if…. You will be full of joy and peace for the days ahead. And you can live – not mournfully, wistfully, or grieving your life away – but content and blessed – in the Light of all the Godhead has decreed and done for you!
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
John 1:16 And from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
Matthew 6:30-33 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
