Obedience

It’s time for our yard to be mowed. We have about an acre of lawn and it grows fast. Yesterday evening my husband asked me to try mowing it. I needed to learn. I just don’t much like riding mowers. But okay I said and he sat in chair while I made a valiant effort. It was awkward. I don’t like hills and turns. So I tried to avoid both. I managed to mow some areas and held my breath as it felt at time like I was going to fall over! But my desire to please him outweighed my fears so I kept going.

Finally I asked him the same question he was asked at least a hundred times while in the hospital…with a twist. On a pain level of 1 to 10 how much was his pain watching me mow… I expected a 10 but he said it was a 4! Whew

Oh beloved God has your very best in mind always. As He teaches you new things you will find it awkward at times. You may be reluctant to even try. But go ahead and say yes. And remember you are learning to do what is supernaturally normal for God. He doesn’t have a pain level watching you walk in obedience. With every step in the right direction He is cheering you on in faith. There will be twists and curves, hills and valleys. But keep going. This is your finest moment- living in obedience to The Father because Christ in you makes it possible.

God loves you and He’s for you all the way. Rejoice that your desire to please Him outweighs your fear. You are becoming the successful believer you were designed to be as you live supernaturally in the Light of His best for your life.

Job 36: 22 Behold, God is exalted in His power; Who is a teacher like Him?

I Samuel 15: 22 Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Psalm 90: 17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.
