While we were hitting the back roads we came upon some campers. Now these campers were in a remote part of the area and had no electricity or running water. It was primitive. We’ve seen these types of campers in this area before. They were probably living in a tent and their vehicle. We didn’t see them at first. We did see their cardboard sign. That’s what made us stop. “Need $5 for cigarettes. Will trade for Firewood.” About the time we got the sign read we saw a woman in a long black dress moving through the thicket picking up sticks. We decided to move on, quickly. They were living in the wilderness for sure.
What kind of wilderness are you living in? If you had a sign posted what would it say?
Oh, beloved, God doesn’t abandon His own. Even in the wilderness of life He is with you. Jesus understands the wilderness experience. You may be going through the thicket hoping to pick up enough to get by. But the Lord has the riches of His kingdom for you. He has plans that are good and safe. If you have found yourself in a wilderness you can be sure it will not be your final home. You are passing through. Don’t set up camp and don’t get comfortable. Don’t believe for a moment this is all you have and you just have to live with it. God has given His people the pioneer spirit for sure. But that spirit brings you out of the wilderness and into the pleasant pastures of joy, peace, love, blessings and more.
A wilderness experience is time to get closer to the Lord, rely on the Savior and live in the Spirit like never before. You will no longer crave the elemental needs of the world – because you will be fed by the Spirit and filled to overflowing. And when you come out of it all, you will be used to share with others how to push through, keep going and come fully alive in the Spirit.
God loves you and He’s for you! Pioneer you are beloved. You are a discoverer of deeper truths and a forerunner of Kingdom proportions. Trust God where you are but know that He is moving you on through so that His Glory will shine in your life. This test will be your testimony. Rejoice that you are walking into freedom as you live in the Light of His Purpose and Goal.
