When my husband was temporarily paralyzed from a stroke, I got paralyzed too – by fear.
Although hubby’s paralysis left and it’s never recurred, my paralysis tries to come back on occasion. Can anyone relate?
Oh beloved, fear is the ultimate “paralyzer”. It will grab you and keep you from moving forward. It will tie you to the bed of sorrow and cause you to remain immobile and unmovable.
But our God is a forward God. His momentum is to compel us to live a forward facing, continually moving in the Spirit life. No one is ever meant to succumb to fear. Not only will fear paralyze it will cause you to completely miss God. You’ve been called to freedom. Your focus is simply the Lord. Not circumstances, not people, not possessions, or any other thing. When our focus gets on God alone, we become steadfast and eager to move forward. None of us can predict our own futures can we? None of us knows what the day will hold do we? But we do know that God Himself holds our day. He holds us in the day, every single day. We aren’t captives of the thoughts of doom and gloom that want to engulf us. Those thoughts aren’t from God. Jesus didn’t come to make us cringing, fearful and just hiding until He returns.
God also wants you to know that He has your very best in mind. He isn’t moving you toward destruction, but toward blessings. Following Him is key. Giving Jesus first place is key. The best therapy for a troubled heart and a fearful mind is to trust and obey. Walk with the Lord. Talk with Him often. And talk Truth to yourself.
It actually turns out that both my hubby and I were strong beyond measure. He was strong and refused to give in to whatever was pronounced over him. I was strong and refused to give in to the fears of those pronouncements. You beloved, know better. Because of the Spirit of the Only Living God dwelling in you, there are resources of supernatural nature available not just to you but within you!
God loves you and He’s for you. Allow Him to lift you up and walk you on to victory. Today may not be the perfect day, but you are a child of the Perfect Savior, who made a way for all your bad days, bad situations and bad pronouncements. Rise up in assurance, speak the Word over yourself and live the freedom life of a saved, sealed and delivered faith walker for life!
I John 4: 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Philippians 4: 6-7 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
