Persistence

Yesterday we had a visitor in our office. He was there to watch the emergency pesticide video so that he could purchase herbicides for his pasture. This s a simple thing – people come in and watch a power point show for about 2 hours. Easy peasy. Except this time the first computer I sat him at didn’t have a CD player. Then the CD wouldn’t play in any of the computers. And it took 30 minutes to download the program from the website.

Finally the gentleman was all set up and could watch the program. I almost told him he’d have to come back another day. But I persisted. My favorite saying about computers is “They will not beat me.” I delight in persisting until what I need works.

Oh beloved, persistence in the Spirit is your ally. Keep seeking God’s face. You’ve sought Him again and again. Trouble shows its ugly head but you aren’t afraid of trouble. You have a goal to achieve and you aren’t letting anything stand in your way. Your goal is to be fully engaged with the Savior. He is your goal. As you pursue the Lord with all your heart, other things work out. Prayer is not just a request for things but He wants you to make your requests made known to Him. Intimacy is not just closeness, it’s oneness – unity, togetherness, agreement.

Perhaps you’ve had trouble connecting to Him lately. It’s not time to give up. The believer’s life is not meant to be waiting for someday. It’s meant to be thriving in Spiritual connection with the One Who loves you most, saved you thoroughly and wants to build relationship with you. Don’t give up now. Don’t settle. Other relationships will be wonderful along the way but nothing can compare to the love story you are building with the King. He knows your needs and He promises to work out everything for your good and His glory. He says cling to Me and I will show you great and wonderful spiritual insight in love!

God loves you and He’s for you. Ask Him this morning for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him for wisdom. Ask Him for fellowship. Ask Him to fill you with His knowledge and you will gain wisdom, power and love. All this is needed for the lifestyle of a believer. Ask Him to increase your belief as well! Nothing is greater than this love life built between Father and child! You will see so much better as you focus on Him! Your weakness will no longer matter because you are counting on Him! Rejoice that you can walk in the precepts of the Lord because you are abiding in His wonder working power and love!

Deuteronomy 13:4 You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.

Psalm 63:8 My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.

I Corinthians 6:17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Psalm 143:6 I lift my hands to You in prayer. I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain.
