Peter and John

Peter and John run to the Tomb

Scripture: John 20: 3-9

“So Peter and John were going to the tomb; both of them were running together, but John outran Peter and arrived at the tomb first, and stooping to look in the tomb, he saw the linen cloth lying there, but he did not go inside. Then Simon Peter came. and entered the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, but in a place by itself. Then John, who had reached the tomb first entered the tomb, and he saw and believed: for as yet they did not understand the Scripture that Jesus would rise from death.”

Before being too critical of Peter and John, try to imagine how you would have responded to such a supernatural event. Though during Jesus’ earthly ministry, He had raised the son of a widow of Nain, daughter of Jarius, and Lazarus, this was not an event that often happened.

Prayer thought:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the truth that death of our physical bodies is not the end for us, but if believers, we will have new bodies and live throughout eternity with You.  Jesus made this possible and we thank You in His name. Amen
