Post The Word

With some of my grands in tow I went over to see a friend’s house still under construction. She invited us along with several others to write Scriptures and encouragement on the studs of the building before the sheet-rock and trim went up. What a cool idea! Even the grands, who know her and like her a lot, took a marker and wrote! It was so much fun!

To know that through the years the words written will remain as a hidden reminder of the blessings of God is quite wonderful.

Oh beloved, the Word is Spirit and life! When you write it, it enters your mind and changes your internal atmosphere. God instructed the His people to write the Scriptures on their door posts,to carry them in their clothes and to talk about them all the time. Even if you think you cannot quote things verbatim what goes in through the Spirit remains. My friend can’t SEE the Word anymore but it’s there. As you and I ingest the Word we become vessels of it. She will remember what people wrote and it will be a source of comfort and strength for her.

It’s time to write- maybe on your door posts. On mirrors, in picture frames, on your cars dashboard, wherever. Definitely on your heart. You have been writing all the negative stuff about yourself in the privacy of your heart and where has that gotten you? Your troubles aren’t your Truth. Your mistakes don’t enrich your heart do they. Your regrets can’t fix a thing. Worries won’t accomplish anything. Try reading the Word out loud! Try writing the truth on the door post of your heart! Try asking God to make His secure Word your lock and bolt for your mind!

God loves you and He’s for you. His Word proves it to all believers and those who dare to believe Him are the most sane, secure, at peace and powerful people on earth! Run to Him and take your daily dose of living Word and live in the Light of it always!

Deuteronomy 11: 18-20 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the door-frames of your houses and on your gates

Psalm 119: 11  I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.

2 Timothy 3: 16. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Psalm 19: 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple
