Promotion

It’s the time of year when a group of people in my work organization apply for promotions in rank. It’s a daunting task because you really have to prove your worthiness on paper to merit this promotion. Not everyone who applies will get promoted. Still many will apply because of the increased benefits if the promotion comes through. Everyone who applies waits to see what their letter will say. Some are elated and others are disappointed.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that in the world of faith it’s promotion time! Unlike this world’s plans, you don’t have to prove your worthiness to anyone. You don’t have to apply. In fact promotion can often look like the opposite thing. But with the Lord even the hardest of times, those things that seem like demotion in the spirit are set ups. Every disappointment is a setup for promotion in the Kingdom. Disappointments are His appointments. The Lord knows your needs and He is able to fulfill them quickly and without notice. It’s our job as believers to wait on the Lord, to be of Good Cheer and wait on Him! Christ died on the cross to secure our position in the Kingdom of God. We don’t have to hustle or bustle, work long hours or toil without rest. We just have to abide. Living in the Spirit is our greatest promotion. Without Him we can do nothing! Without Holy Spirit anointing our work is in vain.

But when Holy Spirit fills us with His love and fire we are promoted into the heavenly realm! We are securely walking in faith because our eyes are on the Lord! No weapon formed against us will prosper. There’s no partiality or human favor. It’s all divine! We become His ambassadors and He becomes our reward! Even the fellowship of His sufferings can’t destroy us or demote us because we are seated in heavenly places with Him.

God loves you and He’s for you! He loves me and He’s for me! There is therefore no competition or contention for those who are in Christ Jesus. The baptism of love is our promotion without calling hierarchy or rank. We can rest in His promises and wait for His commissioning. Your calling is simply a result of your intimacy with Christ and your reliance upon Holy Spirit. Rejoice, beloved, that you are headed for ultimate promotion in heaven. And you are being promoted in the Kingdom as a believer who is walking in the favor of the Lord all the days of your life!

Joshua 23: 11 So be very careful to love the Lord your God.

Galatians 5: 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Colossians 3: 23- 24 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Ephesians 2: 6 For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
