Magnifying Light of Jesus in Our Daily Lives
Day 5 ~ Remembering

“I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. “ John 8:12, NET

We are inclined to grumble, to be thankless, or to complain about our circumstances, God graciously reminds us that we must remember “Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all; won’t He also give us everything we need.” – Romans 8:32

Recently I stopped by Hobby Lobby and coming out of the store was a girl carrying a large picture frame; giving the impression she was looking out a window at her world. This made me think of the many times I have stood at my kitchen window remembering as life passed rapidly by. Similar to “Job in chapter 29:2, I wanted to cry out….Oh that I was as in months past.  I am learning that apart from the fullness of the Holy Spirit, it is impossible for me to exhibit genuine joy; that joy comes when I stop wishing for a return of former happiness but go at once, to seek my master; ask His Grace and Strength to help me walk more closely with Him”[1] Go at once ….seek your master….what a tender reminder of God’s provision; .My Lord and Master.

I remember years of looking out the windows of my world, wondering where loved ones were, what they were doing, pleading with God to protect and draw them to Him. At the same time the years have come and gone and I realize the time spent at those windows is not where my Lord wanted me to be. He would desire that I lift my eyes up to Him and not out those windows.  Oh friends of God look up …seek the master….clean the windows of your soul, and look to Jesus remembering what He has done, is doing and what He will do.

Thoughtful Reflection ~ Review Lamentation 3:22-26; Print and post these verses where they can remind you to look up when you are tempted to look out your window to the world; remembering that God is faithful – His mercies are new every morning.
