Early mornings have always been my most favorite time of the day. When the land awakens and dew drop kisses brush against my feet as I take my morning stroll. I always walk down to our pond that has a dock and sit while watching God paint the eastern sky before me.
Breathing in the crispness of morning time, I allow this newness to fill me up for whatever may come my way today. I’ve watched dragonflies skim the waters surface, seen deer grazing nearby, watched the winds turning the head of our windmill in the direction they want it go, witnessed geese flying overhead,
Seen reflections of tree lines and myself in its water, and watched snowflakes falling forming a layer of white covering the dry grass beside it.
The freedom of a new beginning.
As the day goes on I tend to get sidetracked with the days activities. The never ending errands, housework, meal planning, farming, phone calls, etc, etc. I, like most women can feel overwhelmed by having to wear the many hats we all wear, pulling off one to only put on another and repeating it multiple times throughout the day.
Life has a way to try and get our focus off our quiet times with God and put it up on a shelf so we can focus on the tasks we have at hand. And by doing that we are robbing ourselves as well as others.
We need to realize by renewing our mindset it’s a blessing, a gift.
When we start to feel those anxieties throughout the day, we need to treat them like the dreaded weeds in our gardens, you know the ones who try to choke out all the beautiful flowers. When we see them we start pulling them up by their roots so they can’t grow there again. If left unattended they soon take over and then we spend a lot more of our time de-weeding.
Our thoughts, our actions, are the flower gardens in our daily lives. We weed out the bad ones plucking them up by their roots and allowing the beautiful ones to thrive. When you renew your mind by replacing the negative with more positive, you bloom.
It may take some time, but you will get there. It’s part of His plan for you.
