After saying all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose, Paul added: “For those whom he foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” Romans 8: 29a.
We are getting into some deep theology here, but in my words I believe this scripture means that in God’s foreknowledge He knew I would be saved, was aware of the years I would waste, but that I would become one of His children, and through the process of sanctification would become more like Jesus.
Knowing that God is allowing me to experience adversities of life to conform me into the likeness of Jesus, makes it easier for me to endure whatever it takes.
This devotional is brief; but speaks volumes of truth. Jesus wept is the shortest verse in the Bible, but is one of the most important to man. Those two words express Jesus’ love and ability to relate to man during grief.
Heavenly Father, thank You this opportunity to share these thoughts with others, please use them to help someone and to honor You. Amen.
