“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
When I was young, I did not care much about what I was about to say, who might hear them, or if I would offend someone. I was insensitive and inconsiderate at times, and there were moments when I was unaware that I had already hurt the feelings of someone.
God made you to be a good and wonderful person. He gave you a heart and mind to be pleasing to him and other people. Accept that you are not perfect, but you can say goodbye to things in your life that keep you from being the better person that you can be.
You can say goodbye to childish ways and know that God will guide you. You can stop saying negative, unpleasant, or tactless words that can hurt someone and cause damage to your relationships. Replace hurtful words with words that are gentle, kind, and pleasing to the ear.
You can live harmoniously with others through your kind ways and actions. You can even say goodbye to habits that are not good for you, like complaining and arguing. You can always pray to God for him to help you stop or refrain from doing a bad habit. Yes, it may not be easy, but you certainly can because the Bible says that “you can do everything through Jesus, who gives you strength” Philippians 4:13
Do other things that will be truly beneficial to you and others. Look at and study the life, ways, and speech of Jesus. He always said the right words at the right time and he cared for others. Follow him for when you do, you will not only please and delight God; then, you will grow and be happy every day.
