We got a call Sunday from a “census worker”. She said she was calling to confirm our address. Since it was a cell phone from northwest Arkansas and knowing I’d completed the census online months ago, I politely declined and hung up on her. It’s amazing the scams that are going around these days.
Oh beloved, the enemy loves to scam people. He pretends to be in the know. He shares his knowledge with whoever will listen. Trouble is he is a lying liar. It’s his nature to lie, cheat and steal. His scams are the same types over and over again.
But the Lord is with you. He will show you the truth and give you the right response. Always the Word of God is your ally. When confronted by tactics of the underworld you can speak the Word. While you cannot see the power of the Word in the natural, much is going on in the heavenlies when you sound God’s truth out into the air. Just as Jesus responded in the wilderness, you too can respond in like manner.
God knows what you are facing. He understands you are concerned. But He wants you to know you have Him as your Source. He may use people, places and things to bless you, but they are not your Source. The One who saved you keeps you. The One who provided you with grace is the One who walks you through life with goodness and mercy. You aren’t the sum of the times or situations you are in. Don’t fall for the lie that you have to make something happen. Don’t give your information out over the phone to a stranger. And don’t give in to the enemy’s lies. He will assure you that you are done for, weak, useless, incapable, and more.
But God and His Word provide more power than you can imagine. Your power for living is found in Christ, through Holy Spirit indwelling. Without Holy Spirit you will fall for anything. With His indwelling, and your realization that this is Truth, you have automatic access to All Truth. Fiction can hold you anymore, for you delight in God’s Truth and aren’t swayed by anything – not life’s problems or anything in all the earth.
God loves you and He’s for you. What power! What majesty! What truth! Run to Him this morning and ask Him for discernment. And live in the Light of the Truth that sets you free to live this life with wisdom, power and love!
Matthew 4:4 But Jesus answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
John 14:16-17 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
I Peter 5:8 Be self–controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
John 8:44 …He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
